Saint John's Guild of Servers

There are oportunities for the ministry of serving at the altar, both on Sundays at the Parish Masses or during the week. You need not have served at the altar before, since training (and uniform) is provided. All ages welcome.

Saint John's Mothers and Toddlers

The Saint John's Mother and Toddler Group meets every Tuesday morning during School Term from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the Saint Richard Room. It is an informal gathering which enables the mothers to have a chat and tea or coffee, and the children to play in a safe environment. At 10:45 we pack away the toys and have a sing song which is sometimes even led by one of our Priests!

The cost is 50 pence each week, per family

Scoroptomists

A group for the senior citizens of Saint John's. This meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 2:00 pm in the Parish Room. All are welcome.

Saint John's Flower Guild

Our group is a small band of ladies (although gentlemen are always welcome too) working on a weekly rota basis. Our aim is to provide fresh flowers for Saint John's Church, usually in the sanctuary and by the shrine of Our Lady as well as in the Lady Chapel. We are always looking for further help to ensure the upkeep of fresh flowers in church.

If you would like to join our team of highly skilled flower arrangers, or would like to learn the art, we always have room for a spare pair of hands! Flowers are placed in church during the year, except during Advent and Lent, and on Feast Days such as Christmass and Easter, the church is specially decorated.

A love of flowers is the only requisite to become a member of this friendly group.

For more details of these and other activities, contact us here at Saint John's. Also see the Events page.
